The Boxford Public Library and the Perley Scholarship Funds, Inc.
Since 1989, a Boxford volunteer board of directors has sought to fulfill the wishes of long-time Boxford resident, Barbara C. Perley, who established the Barbara Perley Scholarship Fund in her will in order to provide “…financial aid to those children who need such assistance to pursue a college or vocational, technical or trade school education…” Each year, as a result of Barbara Perley’s vision and through the continued financial support of the townspeople, the Board has been able to extend grants up to 16 Boxford students annually who have gone on to attend post-secondary across the nation. This tax-exempt scholarship fund is designed solely for the benefit of Boxford students in need of financial aid.
In addition to scholarships, each year the Barbara Perley Scholarship Fund provides financial support to the Boxford Town Library. This annual gift to the library is used to promote free library services within the Town of Boxford. Past gifts have included publications, e-books, music downloads and other such media as requested by the Boxford Town Library professional staff.
